According to the latest statistics from XXXChurch.com, 47% of the readers of this blog would consider porn a “major problem” in their home. That’s 535 people, and just a small representation of our church if you consider the 3,000+ that attend a Frontline campus each Sunday.
The porn industry brings in $57 billion annually, which is more than the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL combined. United States porn revenue exceeds the combined revenues of CBS, ABC and NBC.Porn represents 35% of all downloads, 25% of all search engine requests, 12% of existing websites and 8% of all emails.
The issue doesn’t just include men. 1 in 3 visitors to adult websites are women, and 17% of all women struggle with a pornography addiction.
The issue does not exclude the church. 53% of Promise Keepers men have viewed porn in the last week, and 47% of Christians say porn is a major problem in the home.
The point is that although you may feel like you are the only one around you struggling with pornography, the reality is that you are not. This is an issue that so many are struggling with, yet is rarely discussed in the church.
The Internet Campus provides an easy and anonymous way to address this issue head-on. We are partnering with XXX Church to teach about the dangers of internet pornography. Log onto the Internet Campus at 8 PM EST next Wednesday, March 12 to join us in confronting this issue. If you have friends, family or coworkers that struggle as well, please let them know. It’s time to confront internet pornography.

Part of the problem with internet pornography is the fact that it is anonymous. I understand that people see it as shameful. But the truth is that God has set us all free and until we embrace that truth, we will always be chained to our sin.
I encourage any one, men and women, who are struggling with pornography to seek help in person. Doing it anonymously is a great start. But to receive the full freedom that God has promised, we must be willing to confess openly.
Thanks for looking out for us and providing an opportunity like this. What loving and brave shepherds we have at Frontline. I’m looking forward to the teaching and the community support.
I hope we take the time to confront the sinful roots of this outward manifestation – like lust, impatience, unbelief, and rebellion. To all who struggle, like me, be encouraged that Jesus is more satisfying than sin and his ways more pleasing than our own.
I pray that we as Frontliners, since we have tasted how bad sin is, that we taste and taste again how good the Lord is.
Did anyone see the Nightline debate between Craig Gross and Ron Jeremy?
Hmmmm…… Its been several weeks, and I have been coming back and checking hoping that there could be an open and honest discussion about pornography. It could take place annonymously in a forum such as this.
After checking occasionally here on this blog I’ve noticed no additional comments being made.
Let me offer my insight, many men inside the church are struggling with pornography but the church has not come to terms with this struggle. I don’t think the church has the resources today to really tackle this issue.
Also, porn is a major threat to the church. Why are there no men stepping up to lead mission trips, or small groups? I would suggest its becuase many struggle with porn and they are afriad to confess and deal with it.
I would also suggest that this issue is allowing the church to become gray resulting and preventing non-Christinas from knowing Christ. Why do I say that you ask? We are losing our saltiness by accomodating sin and refusing to take a stand on it. The outside world can not deceipher a true Christ follower from someone of the world because we can became so much like the world.
This leads me to my final point, becuase of the lack of candid discussion about pornography in the church today and tackling it, is Frontline/McLean Bible like the Church of Laodicea in Revelations 3:15?
Just a few thoughts….
